Uchenna Nwosu was born on December 28th, 1996, in Carson, California. He is an Outside linebacker in the NFL. During high school, Nwosu made 2013 Prep Star All-West, All-L.A. City Division I first team, South Bay Daily Breeze All-South Bay first team and All-Marine League first team as a senior linebacker at Narbonne High in Harbor City (Calif.). He had 121 tackles, 3 interceptions, 9 deflections, a fumble recovery and a forced fumble in 2013. Narbonne played in 2013 L.A. City Division I final.
He played college football at USC where he was an All-American, After his senior season at USC, Nwosu was named a co-MVP of USC along with quarterback Sam Darnold. He was also on the watch list for the Butkus Award. Overall, Nwosu played in 44 games in four seasons at USC, recording 169 total tackles, 12.5 sacks, 19 pass deflections, 1 interception, 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery. Following his senior season, he participated in the 2018 Senior Bowl.
The Los Angeles Chargers selected Nwosu in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. On May 13, 2018, the Los Angeles Chargers signed Nwosu to a four-year contract. Uchenna Nwosu was the Los Angeles Chargers' nominee for the 2019 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. Presented by Nationwide, the award recognizes a player's excellence both on and off the field. In March 2022, he signed a two-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks.
December 5, 2024 the Seattle Seahawks announced LB Uchenna Nwosu has been selected as the team's nominee for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award presented by Nationwide.
